      <title>E se KTM si ritirasse dalla Dakar?</title>

&lt;p&gt;La &lt;strong&gt;Dakar 2011&lt;/strong&gt; si è chiusa con la vittoria di Marc Coma tra le moto e del principe Nasser Al-Attiyah tra le auto. Se tra i piloti poteva esserci qualche incertezza sul risultato finale, lo stesso non si può dire per le case impegnate in questa straordinaria competizione: &lt;strong&gt;KTM&lt;/strong&gt; e Volkswagen hanno confermato il loro ruolo di dominatori nelle rispettive categorie. Tra le auto la situazione era piuttosto prevedibile ma tra le moto, con la riduzione di cilindrata a 450 cc, speravamo un po&amp;#8217; tutti in un rimescolamento di carte che consentisse alle varie Aprilia, Yamaha, BMW e Honda di rientrare in gioco nei confronti della corazzata KTM. Non è andata precisamente così: &lt;strong&gt;Marc Coma&lt;/strong&gt; e &lt;strong&gt;Cyril Depres&lt;/strong&gt; hanno fatto gara a sé nonostante qualche problema di affidabilità che però non ha mai condizionato l&amp;#8217;andamento delle prove speciali.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Il trionfo 2011 rappresenta per il marchio austriaco la &lt;strong&gt;decima vittoria consecutiva&lt;/strong&gt; nel rally raid più prestigioso al mondo. La Honda a fine anni &amp;#8217;80 si ritirò dopo una serie di quattro vittorie consecutive: i giapponesi ritennero inutile proseguire in assenza di avversari in grado di contrastare una superiorità così schiacciante. Mi chiedo allora se a Mattighofen qualcuno non stia facendo una riflessione simili. Sicuramente la Dakar rappresenta una vetrina pubblicitaria di tutto rispetto a patto però che ci sia competizione vera, per capirci quella che fa infervorare gli appassionati nelle immancabili discussioni al bar. Se i responsabili della casa austriaca cominciassero a ragionare in questa direzione non è detto che si potrebbe assistere ad un &lt;strong&gt;progressivo disimpegno&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;#8211; almeno in veste ufficiale &amp;#8211; dalla Dakar. Magari seguendo l&amp;#8217;esempio di Ducati in Superbike, cioè assicurando le moto ai team privati senza però un coinvolgimento diretto della casa. Teniamo presente che la crisi mondiale non è ancora finita, le risorse economiche sono limitate e KTM sta per affrontare la sfida (molto dispendiosa) della Moto 3.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Mi rendo conto che l&amp;#8217;uscita di scena del dominatore non sia la soluzione più elegante per riparare alla mancanza di spettacolo in una competizione ma, in assenza di alternative, potrebbe essere una via d&amp;#8217;uscita&amp;#8230; con i ringraziamenti di BMW, Yamaha, Honda e Sherco.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Dakar 2011: classifiche a metà gara</title>

&lt;p&gt;Siamo arrivati al giro di boa della &lt;strong&gt;Dakar 2011&lt;/strong&gt;, dopo sei tappe la situazione di classifica non offre grandi sorprese né tra le moto e né tra le auto. &lt;strong&gt;Marc Coma&lt;/strong&gt; sta gestendo con la sua KTM 450 un vantaggio di 8 minuti su Cyril Depres che ha perso la testa della gara per una penalizzazione di 10 minuti nel corso della 4° tappa. Lopez e la sua Aprilia non riescono ad uscire dal ruolo di outsider, il pilota cileno difende bene la terza posizione ma le due KTM davanti a lui sembrano proprio irraggiungibili.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Tra le auto per una giornata ci siamo illusi che Stephane Peterhansel e la sua BMW X3 potessero impensierire il predominio Volkswagen, ma una 6° tappa ricca di imprevisti per l&amp;#8217;ex endurista transalpino ha rimesso alle spalle dell&amp;#8217;inossidabile &lt;strong&gt;Carlos Sainz&lt;/strong&gt; il suo compagno di squadra il principe Nasser Al-Attiyah. Per il resto da segnalare il troppo precoce ritiro del mitico Robby Gordon su Hammer a due ruote motrici e la simpatica presenza della Mini Countryman, versione &amp;#8220;fuoriserie&amp;#8221; delle X3 ufficiali.&lt;/p&gt;
